Inspiring creator series: Nataliia from Betonvton

If you’re into product photography, there’s one prop shop you need to know about: Betonvton.
Founded by Sweden-based creative Nataliia Hopaitsa, Betonvton has become a go-to for photographers seeking distinctive, sculptural props. Just ask creators like Brittany from Mainstream Multi-Media, Felicia Rusu and Ryan Halls.
Nataliia’s journey began with a spark of curiosity, crafting her first piece for a personal project. That simple experiment quickly turned into a full-blown passion.
Fast forward to today, and Nataliia runs her own workshop where she brings her bold visions to life. Her sophisticated, handmade props are known for their clean lines, artistic shapes and ability to instantly elevate a product shot in more ways than one. It’s no wonder Betonvton has become a favourite among creatives looking for something truly special.
So how did a personal project evolve into a thriving creative business? Let’s dive into Nataliia’s journey and the artistry behind Betonvton’s most sought-after pieces.

Meet Nataliia
How did you get started with your prop business? Have you always been creating props for product photography?
Hey creators, Nataliia Hopaitsa here. I’m originally from Ukraine, but for the past three years, I’ve been calling beautiful Sweden my home. It’s here that I’ve found both inspiration and space to fully embrace my creative journey.
I’ve always dreamed of running my own business, but for the longest time, I had no idea what that would look like. Then, back in 2019, I came across some stunning concrete planters and decided to try making them myself in my tiny one-room apartment! It was messy, fun and incredibly addictive. I found myself turning anything I could find into a mold - cutting and gluing thin plastic just to create unique shapes. That curiosity turned into passion. I dove deep into learning, refined my skills, moved into a proper workshop, and never looked back.

What are some things people might not know about you?
I’m passionate about travel and staying active - it’s how I recharge and stay inspired. One of my biggest dreams right now is to master the art of creating beautiful videos, especially product videos that tell a story through visuals.
Can you tell us about your props and how you handcraft each piece?
When it comes to materials, I’m very selective. I use only certified plaster, premium white cement, high-quality pigments and additives from trusted international suppliers to ensure top results.
I also make all my silicone molds by hand because I love exclusive shapes that you simply can’t find online. Every piece is thoughtfully designed not just as a prop, but also as a decor object that can elevate any space.
What is your best advice to share with aspiring product photographers?
I’m not a photographer myself, so I don’t give photography advice but one thing I truly believe in is the power of learning and consistent practice. The more you shoot, the better your results will get. Stay curious, stay current and don’t be afraid to be ahead of the trends - even if you’re just starting out.
How do you keep learning and evolving your skills?
I’m part of several creative communities focused on concrete decor, I visit exhibitions regularly, and occasionally take professional courses to sharpen my skills. But honestly, many of my best ideas come from experimenting - trial, error and lots of hands-on testing in the studio.

Which creators do you admire and find inspiring?
I’m inspired by creators who stay on top of trends and push themselves to grow - it’s hard to name just a few, because there are so many amazing people out there constantly innovating and creating with purpose.
What are your three favourite props to use?
I love these three props:

Lastly, what’s next for you?
Looking ahead, I dream of expanding beyond just photo and video props. I want to offer creative display solutions for retail stores and exhibitions too.
My biggest hope? That more people start using props as decor pieces in their everyday spaces - because they truly make everything look stunning.
