Let’s chat with Jacquetta

Hey everyone! My name is Jacquetta Clark and I’m from London, United Kingdom.

It's a cliché, but I didn't choose photography, photography chose me. A creative path was always on the cards for me, I just didn't know it would be as a photographer. With both of my parents being artists, I grew up surrounded by creativity and was very encouraged to make art.

It wasn’t until I got to art school that photography really became my main medium. While studying at university, I began freelancing on the side, picking up photography jobs wherever I could. Nearly a decade later, I’m still doing what I love.

Moving to London was the biggest step in my career so far. The city has opened up so many opportunities. I've met incredible creatives, worked with amazing brands, and even had the chance to travel internationally for shoots.

When I’m not behind the camera, I'm still connected to the art world. I create digital drawings and try to attend as many exhibitions in London as possible. I'm also passionate about yoga and travel. One of my most memorable experiences was a van trip around New Zealand, a truly humbling and inspiring journey.

I would say my personal aesthetic is vibrant and sharp. I love colour and I like working with good lighting to really enhance that.

Journey with Creatively Squared

I was looking for a platform that offered the option to work with multiple brands across photography, video and UCG content. So when I found Creatively Squared, it was a no brainer to join.

Working with James Wellbeloved has been amazing because I love dogs. Any opportunity to work with animals is a joy but it can also be challenging as they don't always do what you want. However this means when you get the perfect shot it's even more rewarding!

Tools of the trade

I shoot with Nikon, and I recently upgraded to a Mirrorless, which has been great. Lighting is super important to me, I usually work with flash to create high quality and well lit images. I like to tether to Capture One on my laptop as I shoot to ensure I am getting the shots as we go.

I usually do my photoshoots in my apartment or in a studio, but I also do enjoy an outdoor shoot, you can really get some amazing images if you're lucky with the weather.

Jacquetta’s creative process

Planning is key especially when you have models on the shoot. It's really important that everyone understands what we are trying to achieve and it helps me stick to the brief when I shoot.

I also work with an assistant on some shoots, but it depends on the brief.

Whenever I want to get into the creative zone, music is the best way to set the vibe and energy of the shoot!
