How creator Anna turned everyday moments into a full-time creative career

When it comes to product and lifestyle photography, one name stands out on the Creatively Squared creator team: Anna Green.
Based in the relaxed coastal town of Byron Bay, Australia, Anna has a gift for turning everyday moments into warm, relatable stories. Her colourful aesthetic and effortless styling make branded content feel both natural yet beautifully composed.
Think friends toasting Bundaberg at a beachside picnic (sandy knees and all), a family sharing Devondale sparkling drinks over a laid-back backyard lunch or an everyday morning ritual captured for Colgate. She’s even worked with feline talent for Whiskas, proof that Anna can find the magic in any brief.
Since joining the Creatively Squared community, Anna has brought her creativity to countless projects and she never misses a beat. We’re taking a closer look at her journey into full-time photography and how she’s made it the perfect fit for both her craft and her laid-back lifestyle.

Let’s chat with Anna
Hey creators! I’m Anna Green, a food, beverage and lifestyle photographer from Byron Bay, Australia.
I've had a camera in my hand since high school photography class, then spent my working career in marketing for food and beverage before turning my love for photography into my full time job.
With my background, I always love shooting all things food and beverage in the studio and on location. I love colours too so my style is vibrant and bold with an eye for composition.
When I'm not creating I'm with my family and our Border Collie, Bo, at the beach.

Journey with Creatively Squared

I found Creatively Squared on Instagram and thought it looked like a fun way to get some more industry experience.
My most challenging project was for Colgate Total. It involved 2 bathrooms, 2 different models and a lot of creative thinking to keep plenty of interest and variety in the shots.
Shooting white toothbrushes on white backgrounds and ensuring they stand out and look interesting and dynamic is no small feat! But we got there and I'm so proud of that gallery.

Tools of the Trade
I shoot with a Canon R6 mkii and a Canon 24-70mm lens most of the time. It's my go-to combo for having maximum versatility with composition and being able to shoot images and video seamlessly.
I love shooting in beautiful houses with amazing kitchens and bathrooms. I've been lucky enough to find some great shoot locations!
I have a home studio with professional equipment but I also scout for special locations through friends and friends of friends when I need a nice bathroom, kitchen or outdoor setting.

Anna’s creative process
I'm a big planner. I go through the brief, break it down into a shot list, including shot angles, products involved, concepts, and then organise it in a way that will be most efficient on the day. It's so easy to miss something if you aren't organised.

I often work alone, but lately I've been working with a producer/assistant who helps me find talent, location and props and then is there on the day to help. It's been so amazing having a second set of hands on location shoot days.
I always try to remember that I can't be creative if I'm feeling stressed so I have to remember to play. Music is a great help in the studio for lightening your mood and making it more fun.
Whenever I’m on location with models, I always try to have a laugh with them. It makes it more fun for everyone.

Top creative tip
Keep moving! If something doesn't look quite right, try moving the props, move the product and then move yourself to another angle or viewpoint. Sometimes a fresh perspective can help take a photo from meh to Yeah!
Lastly, what’s next for you?
I've been playing more with incorporating artificial light into a natural light setting to help enhance the shot whilst keeping it natural. It's so hand to have a little hand held flash on set especially when shooting indoors that don't quite have enough light.

Thank you Anna for being such a creative force in our community!
We’ve always admired your beautiful lifestyle imagery and your contributions to Creatively Squared have truly left a mark.
