Let’s chat with Consuelo

Hey creators! I’m Consuelo Borroni from Lyon, France. I discovered my love for photography at the age of 12 when I got my first camera, and since then, I’ve never put it down. What started as a simple hobby has grown into a full-time career that I’m truly passionate about.

My work focuses on highlighting the unique personality of each brand I collaborate with, in the food or product universe.

When I’m not working on exciting projects with Creatively Squared, I enjoy partnering with small businesses across Europe to help elevate their visual identity. Or you might find me doing street photography, as I love capturing authentic moments around the world. I’m also currently working on a personal stop motion project that I’ve been developing — I can’t wait to share it with everyone soon!

My personal aesthetic is centered around neutral tones with pops of colour that catch the eye just right. I’m drawn to elegant and thoughtfully arranged setups that feel both refined and inviting. I also love adding a delicate floral touch to bring a bit of natural beauty and softness to each image. It’s all about creating visuals that feel balanced, fresh, and a little bit special.

Journey with Creatively Squared

I first discovered Creatively Squared about three years ago while scrolling through Instagram. I was immediately captivated by the content you were sharing, so I decided to join just to give it a try. Honestly, I never imagined I’d be where I am today — working with big brands — all starting from a simple Instagram scroll.

I really love working on food and lifestyle product photography — that’s definitely my comfort zone. But thanks to Creatively Squared, I actually discovered a new passion for animal photography! It wasn’t something I ever expected to explore, but I’m so glad I did. So I’d say I have my specialities, but I also love stepping outside my usual style and challenging myself with new types of content.

The most enjoyable (and at the same time, most challenging) project I’ve worked on with Creatively Squared was for Glaceau Vitaminwater. The brief was all about creating a fun and colourful shoot to reflect the brand’s vibrant identity — which I absolutely loved!

I also had the chance to work alongside four amazing talents, which made the experience even more inspiring.

The challenge? Shooting bottles under the sun — reflections everywhere! But overcoming that made the final result even more satisfying, and it really pushed me creatively.

Another notably challenging assignment came from Sheba. The brief required a Blue Russian cat, which sounds simple… until you realise here in France there are only four registered breeders for that specific breed! It took a lot of research and coordination, but in the end, I found the perfect model — and seeing the final images come to life was totally worth the effort.

Tools of the trade

I shoot with a Canon R5, paired with Godox continuous lights — the 150FV and the SL300 III, depending on the project. I rely on a Manfrotto tripod and a trusty C-stand to keep everything stable. And of course… a lot of props and backdrops! Regarding the editing programs, I use Lightroom and Photoshop.

I love working with natural textures and neutral tones — wood, stone, linen — they create a clean, timeless base for my shots. Then I like to add a pop of colour with fruits, flowers or small objects to make the scene more lively and eye-catching.

As for locations, I enjoy shooting in my home studio because I can control every detail, but I also love working with outdoor light, especially for lifestyle scenes. It’s a cozy, creative space filled with my favorite props and backdrops, perfect for crafting those polished shots.

Consuelo’s creative process

I always make sure to plan my shoots carefully — I actually create a personal moodboard alongside the main brief to gather extra inspiration and keep the creative flow strong. Storyboarding helps me stay organized and ensures the final images truly reflect the concept. So, definitely no ‘winging it’ here!

I’m a one-woman team! I handle everything myself — from styling to shooting to editing. I actually love having full control over the process; it allows me to bring my vision to life exactly how I imagined it. Of course, sometimes I wish I had an assistant…especially when I’m trying to balance props, lights, and the camera all at once! But so far, it’s just me (and my two cats), and I enjoy the challenge.

To get into my creative zone, I always make sure my space is organised and everything I need is within reach — a tidy environment helps me stay focused. And if I ever feel stuck creatively, I take a break, step away from the set, and come back with a clear mind — it always helps reset my perspective.

Finding inspiration

Absolutely! I love following other creators for daily inspiration. Some of my favourites are @terragoldphoto, @twolovesstudio, @hannahte_photo, @saltplate_st, and @samaharris — I really admire their style and creativity. Their work always sparks new ideas for me!

Top creative tip

My top tip for creating fabulous content is: plan ahead and keep it simple. A clear moodboard, good lighting, and thoughtful composition make all the difference. Don’t overcomplicate — often the most effective images are clean, well-balanced, and tell a story at a glance.

Lastly, what’s next for you?

This year, I really want to improve my Photoshop skills, explore bolder, more colorful compositions, and dive deeper into videography. I love pushing myself creatively, and experimenting with new techniques always brings fresh inspiration to my work.

Big love to you, Consuelo 💫 You’re a true star creator at Creatively Squared. It’s easy to see why our account managers are your biggest fans!
