Meet Feli Rosse

How did your journey to photography start? Have you always been a product photographer?

Hey everyone, I’m Feli Rosse. I am from Republic of Moldova but currently living in the UK for more than 10 years now.

I started my photography journey when my camera, which I'm still using, was a gift to me. I saw an online course on product photography and knew I had to jump at it, as I didn't enjoy taking pictures of people. I fell in love with product photography, and here I am, more than three years later, still loving it.

What are some things people might not know about you?

1. I run on coffee, literally, I just had 7 coffees today :D

2. Growing up, I didn't have a TV until I was like 19, so I'm definitely lacking in the Disney department.

3. Actually, that's not true. I don't run on coffee. I run on pizzas. I don't think there's a single week where I don't have pizzas.

What equipment do you currently use to produce your content?

I use a Canon Mark III 5D, Canon 24-70mm lens. Tripod is a C- stand and a basic one from Amazon from K&F Concept. Lights, FV 150 Godox, and a few of SL W60 also from Godox.

What is your favourite lighting to use?

Absolutely FV 150! It's so powerful it can be used as a continuous or strobe.

What are your three favourite props to use?

In my photoshoots, I love using fruits, flowers, and rocks as they complement the best in any product.

Which other creators do you admire and find inspiring?

There are so many of them, but first came in my mind: Ksenia and Sasha

What is your best advice to share with aspiring photographers?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who says this, but nothing teaches you more than spending days with your camera, experimenting with different compositions and lighting schemes. That's where you learn the most. So my advice is to keep going and not stop until you become who you want to be.

How do you keep learning and evolving your skills?

I've taken multiple courses to learn how to use light and create compositions. Additionally, I save all the pictures I love on Pinterest and keep shooting until I achieve the same vibe.

Your BTS reels are simple but really educational (and so popular!), any advice for creatives wanting to produce this type of content?

Are they? ha ha :))) When I started photography, I looked at every photographer and saved all their BTS content. From that, I learned the most, seeing how they positioned the light and camera. I used the same techniques and found it very helpful. So, I decided to be helpful on social media too. Every time I shoot a project, I film the setup, including the light, camera, and background. People probably love them because they learn a lot from it.

What is next for you?

What's next for me is sharing everything I’ve learned over the past couple of years. This includes the best coffee places and pizza spots, but most importantly, what it means to be a photographer. I will be starting 1:1 coaching to share my knowledge and experience.

A huge thank you to you Feli, our community has looked up to you for inspiration and we are so happy that you have shared your creative journey with us.
