How Allie turns food & drinks into compelling stories for global brands

When we think about standout food and drinks photography in our community, one creator always raises the bar: US–based creator Allie Beauchesne. A long-time Creatively Squared member, she first caught our eye during one of our creative challenges with an unforgettable fresh-fruit scene and she’s been inspiring us ever since.

Allie has a rare talent for transforming even the simplest setup into something polished, intentional and full of story. Her eye for detail and signature style have led to projects with brands like Lindt, M&M’s, Ford’s Gin, Black Stallion Wines and more. What we adore most is her styling: maximalist but never overwhelming, beautifully busy yet thoughtfully composed. The kind of imagery you double-tap before you realise it.

Let’s get to know Allie a little better and explore how she captures mood, flavour and atmosphere in a single frame, and see why she’s a favourite among our account managers, beloved by our community and so highly sought after by our customers.

Let’s chat with Allie

Hey everyone! My name is Allie Beauchesne. I am a full-time freelance food and drink photographer, working out of my barn studio in Chicagoland. I love food and drink studio photography the most, with an emphasis on drinks, especially wine.

My personal aesthetic would vary but usually romantic, story-driven imagery with compelling use of colors.

Aside from photography, I love to cook, write, paint, travel and spend time with my husband and young son.

Journey with Creatively Squared

I joined a creative challenge years ago to fuel some inspiration, and have loved the community and projects I have worked on ever since!

I loved working on Black Stallion wine and pairing their beautiful wine bottles with delicious food!

Tools of the trade

I use Canon cameras, artificial light and approximately one million props. My studio, home and property all have so many hidden gems to shoot but I usually shoot in my studio in my barn.

Allie’s creative process

I develop a plan in my head, but always let the project unfurl naturally. I like to step back, observe, and change things up until they feel "right" to my eye. Although I am a one woman production often, I couldn't do this without the never-ending support of my husband who does everything from help me cook to build my studio walls. I also have a few amazing photographer friends who ALWAYS show up when I need them!

When I want to be in the creative zone, I love to listen to a podcast or music, put on a show I've already seen (favorite rewatches are Mad Men, Ted Lasso and Succession) and take my sweet sweet time when creating.
